Free Dropbox downloader
Dropbox Video Downloader
Save a video shared from Dropbox as MP4 without a Dropbox account. Paste the shared link.
What you can save from Dropbox
- The original video file behind a shared link
- Audio and image files shared the same way
- Files up to 3 hours of video on the website
How to get the link
- Press Share on the file in Dropbox, "Copy link", and paste it here. Leave dl=0 in the link; it works either way.
- Password-protected links do not work on the website. Open them in your browser and use the extension.
About this Dropbox downloader
Dropbox shared links (dropbox.com/s/ or dropbox.com/scl/fi/) usually open a preview page that plays the video in a smaller transcoded size. Paste the link here to get the file in its original quality instead, straight from the share. The link must be set to "anyone with the link"; links that require a password, an expiration that has passed or a Dropbox sign-in are not accessible to the website. The same works for audio files and images shared from Dropbox.
Three moves, one file
Copy the link
Open the Dropbox video or post and copy its address.
Paste it up top
Press Download. We find the video and the pictures on that page.
Pick a quality
MP4 or MP3, a size, Download. The file lands in your Downloads folder.
One click instead of paste
The free Chrome extension finds the video on any Dropbox page by itself: open the page, click the icon, press Download. No hourly limit, no copying links, and it works on pages that refuse servers.
Add to ChromeQuestions about the Dropbox downloader
Do I need a Dropbox account?
No. Public shared links work without signing in.
Why is the preview smaller than the file I get?
Dropbox previews are transcoded copies. The download is the original file.
Does it work with folder links?
Paste the link of one file. A folder link lists many files and is not supported.
