What you get

  • Video as MP4, in every quality the site serves, up to 1080p on the website
  • Sound only as MP3 or M4A, for music, podcasts and talks
  • Pictures in the size the site stores, one at a time or all together as a zip
  • Sites that split video and sound into two streams (Reddit, Bilibili, many players) come back as one file with sound

Limits on the website

  • Public links only. Private accounts, paywalls and sign-in-only posts are not visible to our server
  • Up to 1080p and 3 hours per video. The extension has neither limit
  • A fair-use number of lookups per hour per visitor
  • DRM-protected video (paid streaming services) is refused on purpose

How the online downloader works

Paste a link and press Find media. Our server opens that page the way a browser would, finds the video, audio and pictures it serves, and lists them with their formats and sizes. Nothing is stored: the file streams from the site to you, through our server, and is gone when the download ends. There is no account, no app and no watermark added to anything.

When a site refuses requests from servers, or shows a post only after you sign in, the website cannot see it. That is what the free Chrome extension is for: it runs inside your own browser, sees exactly what you see, and saves it with one click. Every downloader page below says plainly what works on the website and what needs the extension.
